No reports of lost ferrets the day after Halloween!
We Didn't Mean To Make Anyone Cry!
Thank you for sending the Calendar!
When I read about the woman who took her sick ferret in and had the poor pet confiscated I started to cry ...so I decided to join the 3000 Club. Here is my membership.
Mickey and Zorro send best wishes and ferret kisses to all their California Cousins.

The Bill Arrives for 1st Quarter EIR
And it kind of scared me! A bill for $2,442.39 is due for the first quarter of the research used to file the Environmental Impact Report - a prelude to ferret legalization. Then it hit me, we're only paying half, Marshall Ferrets is paying the other half! I was expecting to write a check for $1600 to Sacramento State University - but this time around we only need to pay $1221. I cringe to think that the next bill will be higher.
The good news is, we're on our way!
Getting Ready for the Second Quarter
A fundraising letter, a copy of the report, and a 2010 LegalizeFerrets.org calendar went out in the mail to companies who haven't yet participated in our effort to file an EIR. Most of these companies are being asked for the second time to step forward. We've also added a few new ones to hit up for support.

It's My Birthday and I'm Having a Party
On Christmas day I'm leaving for Las Vegas. There is only one thing worth seeing in Las Vegas for me, and that's Pet Kingdom 2000! It has been such a crappy two years I'm treating myself to a baby ferret.
I'll be back late on the 26th and on December 27th I'm throwing me a party to celebrate the new arrival!

Linda Soule with one of the ferrets from her Ferrets with Soul(e) Rescue Shelter.

I'm partnering up with Linda Soule (ferret shelter located in Nevada - sorry we don't have any of these in California) because I really don't need anything for my birthday. (except my soul back, I sold it to get permission to get another ferret) So I will be asking people to bring gifts for Ferrets with Soul(e) Rescue Shelter.
Linda says she needs paper towels and Costco gift cards are wonderful. We'll have more details in the weeks ahead - won't we Linda?
The party is tentatively scheduled from 3 to 5 pm. I've decided on Philipino Food and Red Velvet cake. - Details to follow and I'll try to make it interesting.
OCFerrets Hosts First Halloween "Monster Mash"
The OCFerrets group, a chapter of Ferrets Anonymous hosted a Halloween Party yesterday called "Monster Mash" at a secret location in Orange County for Halloween. Guests were asked to bring a small bag of S'wheat Scoop litter as the entry fee, and plenty of Halloween themed games and other fun activities kept the group entertained from early evening until almost 2 a.m.! The party, which was meant as a fun get together for Orange County Ferrets, was also meant to help raise funds to assist the group in continuing to take care of ferrets, and ferret education in Orange County. For more information on OCFerrets, please see their website at http://www.ocferrets.org.
In Conclusion
We picked up 8 new members for the 3000 Club this week and we actually paid the first bill for the Environmental Impact Report. Yeah!
Thank you everyone who stepped forward. We have a lot to be proud about!
